BRAND STORY

The name PODONG derived from the Korean word “포동” which translates to chubby or plump. During Korean special gatherings, the family would dress up in traditional hanbok attire and decorate their home with colorful lanterns and banners. As the relatives arrived, they would be greeted with warm hugs and kisses on the cheeks, and many would pinch the children’s cheeks, exclaiming how cute they were.
The air was filled with the aroma of delicious food, as the family cooked up a feast of savory dishes like galbi, bulgogi, and japchae. But it was the sweet treats that everyone looked forward to the most, like the refreshing and fruity Shik Hye, and the fragrant and soothing Soojeongwa.
Through these special gatherings, the family not only celebrated their culture, but also strengthened their bonds and relationships with one another. The pinching of the children’s cheeks and the enjoyment of traditional food and desserts like Shik Hye and Soojeongwa became a cherished part of their family history, a symbol of their love and connection to their Korean heritage.
